Helping in school
Parent helpers & visitors to school
Further to our post-Covid risk assessment, we will let parents know when we can return to having parent helpers in school.
We are always keen for parents to come and help out in class, for example, reading, general classroom work, cooking, etc. If you can spare a morning or afternoon on a regular basis, please let your child's teacher know. No previous experience is needed, but an extra pair of hands comes in very useful!
Please be aware that all volunteers in school are subject to a rigorous application procedure which includes a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, reference collection and mandatory attendance at a safeguarding briefing led by the headteacher. Before you sign your volunteer contract, you must also have read all induction documentation, including the KCSiE.
All visitors must sign in and out at the reception desk and visibly display the appropriate lanyard provided.
